Choosing a nursery is a big moment. Whether you're exploring Term‑Time nursery places or All‑year‑round day‑care, our teams is here to make the process simple, friendly and supportive.

Our Places for Children Aged 0–5 Years

We welcome children aged 6 months to 5 years, offering both All Year Round and Term‑Time Only places.

All Year Round Places

  • Open 48 weeks a year
  • From 8.00am – 5.30pm
  • 2 days (Mon,Tues or Thurs,Fri), 3 days (Mon-Weds, Weds-Fri), or 5 day patterns available. 
  • Suitable for families needing full‑day, consistent childcare.
  • We accept funded hours (Community and Marketed Places). 

Term‑Time Only Places (15 or 30 hours)

  • 15 hours (Sessions based on age)
  • 30 hours (Core hour sessions)

Families may also pay for additional hours on top of their child's Universal Entitlement.

Working families with children from 9 months and a term, may be eligible for 30 hours childcare (subject to conditions). You can check eligibility here: Best Start in Life - Best Start in Life

Families of 2‑year‑olds (or children approaching age 2) may be able to access a funded place.

You can apply through the official Islington Citizen Portal:

Make sure to provide your 2‑year‑old code to the nursery before we can offer a funded place.

What We Need to Offer a Place

  • A completed application form - Download Application Form and return to admin@margaretmcmillan.islington.sch.uk
  • Your eligibility code (to prove your funded hours)

Priority Early Learning (PEL) & Additional Needs Support

Most additional needs places are offered through Priority Early Learning (PEL), which supports children with emerging or developing needs who may benefit from early intervention. If you think your child may need extra support, please contact the Islington Family Information Service (FIS) on 020 7527 5959 for guidance on the PEL or SEN referral process, or speak to your Health Visitor.
